About the Teacher

About the Teacher:

Jessica M. Donnelly
Idaho State University
College of Education

Hello and Welcome!

I am Mrs. Donnelly and I am so very excited to be a part of Idaho Falls High School from Jan. - May 2014! I have the wonderful opportunity to join the classroom of Mr. Rob Morris (visit his class website here) and gain experience as I work on the final step towards becoming a highly qualified teacher!

Degrees I am currently working on:
  • Bachelor of Science: Secondary Education with a major emphasis in History and a minor emphasis in Biology (graduation May 2014)
  • Bachelor of Arts: History (graduation May 2014)
Accomplishments and Memberships
  • Member of Kappa Delta Pi, Omega Mu chapter, an international education honor society
  • Officer of Phi Alpha Theta, Chi Rho chapter, a national historian's honor society
  • Dean's List membership, 2009-2013
  • Member, Idaho Science Teachers Association
  • Member, Bonneville County Heritage Association
I have been fortunate to spend time in several historical periods throughout my college career. I have intensively studied and researched:
  • The Middle Ages, including
    • Feudalism and manorialism
    • History of agriculture
    • The Black Death
  • The Renaissance, specifically
    • Art and architecture
    • Dante's Divine Comedy
  • The Protestant Reformation
  • The French Revolution
  • The History of Modern Ireland
    • I will be presenting my own original research regarding protest music during the Troubles in April!
When I am not wearing my teacher's hat, I am often found reading, crocheting, playing with my two girls and husband, or my half-hairless dog. :)
