About the Teacher:
Jessica M. Donnelly
Idaho State University
College of Education
Hello and Welcome!
I am Mrs. Donnelly and I am so very excited to be a part of Idaho Falls High School from Jan. - May 2014! I have the wonderful opportunity to join the classroom of Mr. Rob Morris (visit his class website here) and gain experience as I work on the final step towards becoming a highly qualified teacher!
Degrees I am currently working on:
- Bachelor of Science: Secondary Education with a major emphasis in History and a minor emphasis in Biology (graduation May 2014)
- Bachelor of Arts: History (graduation May 2014)
Accomplishments and Memberships
- Member of Kappa Delta Pi, Omega Mu chapter, an international education honor society
- Officer of Phi Alpha Theta, Chi Rho chapter, a national historian's honor society
- Dean's List membership, 2009-2013
- Member, Idaho Science Teachers Association
- Member, Bonneville County Heritage Association
I have been fortunate to spend time in several historical periods throughout my college career. I have intensively studied and researched:
- The Middle Ages, including
- Feudalism and manorialism
- History of agriculture
- The Black Death
- The Renaissance, specifically
- Art and architecture
- Dante's Divine Comedy
- The Protestant Reformation
- The French Revolution
- The History of Modern Ireland
- I will be presenting my own original research regarding protest music during the Troubles in April!
When I am not wearing my teacher's hat, I am often found reading, crocheting, playing with my two girls and husband, or my half-hairless dog. :)
